The Program Executive Officer Land Systems (PEO LS) at Quantico, Virginia intends to award the contract to Polaris Government and Defense (G&D), located in Medina, Minnesota (CAGE Code: 3FP69), on a sole-source basis. The procurement is estimated for award in the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2026 with an approximate 60-month ordering period. The requirement is to produce Ultra-Light Tactical Vehicle (ULTV) variants in two configurations: ULTV-L (Logistics) and ULTV-HP (High-Power), designed for internal transport on MV-22 tilt rotor and CH-53 rotary wing aircraft to support littoral operations and Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) fielding schedules aligned with Force Design 2030 priorities.
Polaris G&D is identified as the sole source based on statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), as the only designer, developer, and manufacturer of the ULTV-HP variant and the sole vendor with requisite knowledge, experience, and technical expertise to meet scheduled delivery requirements. Polaris G&D is also the only vendor with current MV-22 internal transportability certification for both variants.
