The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision necessary for canal clearing and maintenance services. Bids are to be submitted electronically via the City of Palm Bay's Bonfire platform, with a deadline for questions set for March 10, 2026 at 5:00 PM. The bid bond must accompany the bid submission and remain irrevocable for ninety (90) days following the bid opening date. Alternatively, bidders may submit a certified or cashier's check drawn in favor of the City of Palm Bay, Florida, hand-delivered to the Information Desk at City Hall, 120 Malabar Road SE, Building A, Palm Bay, Florida 32907 before the bid due date.
The bid bond amount must equal five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. The award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder whose qualifications indicate the award will be in the best interest of the City of Palm Bay. If the bid is accepted, the principal must execute a contract within fifteen (15) days of notification and provide a Public Construction Bond in an amount not less than the total contract price. The surety company must appear on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and provide a financial statement. Failure to comply with these requirements results in the forfeiture of the bid bond amount as liquidated damages.
