About this file
The document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by Rochester Community Schools for a folding partition replacement project at McGregor Elementary School. The project involves removing the existing non-functional power-operated folding partition in the gym and cafeteria and installing a new manually operated folding partition. The total partition dimensions are approximately 83' wide x 22' tall. Key dates include a mandatory site walk-through on August 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., bid submissions due on August 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., and an anticipated Board of Education bid award on September 15, 2025. The project completion timeline is listed as "ASAP," and all proposals must be submitted electronically through BidNet Direct.
The RFP includes a mandatory bid alternate for providing and installing a 36" wide x 84" high lockable door in one of the partition panels. The specification requires a manually operated acoustical panel partition with specific performance requirements, including a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of not less than 47, panel weight of 7 lb/sq. ft. maximum, and a nominal panel thickness of 3 inches. The partition should feature a vinyl-coated fabric wall covering with a porcelain enamel whiteboard on the bottom 7 feet of the wall. The basis-of-design product is the Modernfold, Inc. Acousti-Seal 932, with alternative manufacturers like Hufcor, Inc., KWIK-WALL Company, and Moderco Inc. being considered. The RFP emphasizes that the project will not necessarily be awarded to the lowest bidder, but to the most qualified bidder based on various criteria.
