About this file
This document is a detailed technical specification (Section 26 32 13) for an Emergency Generator for the Beaufort County 800 MHz Building located in Beaufort, South Carolina, dated March 22, 2019. The specification outlines requirements for a packaged engine generator set with a minimum system capacity of 100 kW, 125 kVA, designed to provide standby power during utility outages. The system must be fully automated, capable of power outage sensing, generator starting, load transfer, and return to normal power without attended operation. Acceptable manufacturers include Caterpillar Inc, Cummins Engine Company, and Generac Co.
The specification includes comprehensive requirements for the generator's technical specifications, including a water-cooled diesel engine, 72-hour fuel tank, weather-protective enclosure with 180 mph wind rating, and detailed performance parameters. The warranty provisions are particularly robust, offering a five-year warranty with no run time limitations, covering all parts and labor, with replacement of defective materials to be completed within 48 hours of notification at no cost to the owner. The document also mandates extensive documentation, training for owner's personnel, and rigorous testing, including a four-hour full load test with a portable test bank and a two-hour building load test to demonstrate full system functionality.
