About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for SFQ #25WS0005 regarding Non-Emergency Ambulance Transportation Services for the Veterans Home of West Los Angeles. The contract involves approximately 20 transport trips per month, with 75% being Basic Life Support (BLS) transports and 25% being bariatric transports (roughly 15 regular and 5 bariatric trips). The service involves transportation to several medical facilities, with the VA Medical Center being the most frequent destination (less than 1 mile), followed by UCLA RR (3 miles), UCLA SM (4 miles), and St. Johns (4 miles).

The billing structure requires contractors to bill Medicare/Medi-Cal first, followed by CALVET as the secondary payer, with explicit instructions not to bill residents directly. There are no minimum fleet size requirements specified, provided the contractor can meet the contract's service needs. This solicitation is specifically designated for certified small businesses only.
