About this file

This Statement of Objectives (SOO) outlines a procurement for a specialized slant polarized omnidirectional antenna for the Department of the Air Force Space Command. The antenna must cover a frequency range of 0.5-40 GHz, with specific technical requirements including a 45-degree vertical beamwidth, 360-degree horizontal beamwidth, K-type and SMA connectors, and a ruggedized radome design for outdoor deployment. The part number is QOM-ST-0.5-40-KS-R, and key performance objectives include flat gain across the frequency range, standalone operation, and a minimum 12-month warranty.

The pre-solicitation opportunity is currently in the early stages, with delivery timeframe to be determined (TBD) weeks after receipt of order. Critical compliance requirements include providing a VSWR test report and ensuring adherence to export regulations (EAR/ITAR). The antenna is intended to enhance electromagnetic spectrum capabilities for mission-critical RF operations, specifically addressing increased polarization requirements identified by 1 ROPS/EMS (organizational unit).

Statement of Objectives (SOO) Slant Polarized Omnidirectional Antenna (0.5–40 GHz) 16 Aug 25

1. Purpose The purpose of this acquisition is to procure a ruggedized, high-frequency, slant polarized omnidirectional antenna capable of supporting mission-critical RF operations across a broad spectrum (0.5–40 GHz). This antenna will enhance electromagnetic spectrum capabilities and meet operational demands for vertical and horizontal beam coverage.

2. Background Due to increased RF polarization requirements from mission stakeholders, 1 ROPS/EMS identified the need for a specialized antenna with wideband frequency support and durable field deployment characteristics.

3. Objectives The contractor shall deliver a slant polarized omnidirectional antenna that meets the following objectives:

· Part Number: QOM-ST-0.5-40-KS-R

· Provide frequency coverage from 0.5 GHz to 40 GHz.

· Ensure vertical beamwidth of 45 degrees or greater.

· Ensure horizontal beamwidth of 360 degrees.

· Include both K-type and SMA connectors.

· Include radome protection for field durability.

· Deliver a unit ruggedized for long-term outdoor deployment.

· Provide VSWR test report upon delivery.

· Ensure compliance with applicable export regulations (EAR/ITAR).

4. Performance Requirements

· The antenna must exhibit flat gain across the full frequency range.

· The unit must be standalone, with a custom-designed baseplate and radome.

· Warranty coverage must be at least 12 months from final inspection date.

5. Period of Performance Delivery shall occur within TBD Weeks ARO.
