About this file

This document is a Single Source Justification (SSJ) for a sole source contract with Multistack LLC to replace cooling coils and components in a Multistack Chiller located at the U.S. Embassy in Lima, Peru. The total contract value is $57,602.00, and the justification is based on the brand-name requirement, as Multistack LLC is the original manufacturer of the existing chiller system and the only company with the necessary technical knowledge to perform the replacement. The chiller has one module out of service, and the remaining modules show signs of serious deterioration, necessitating immediate service by Multistack trained technicians to restore the equipment to desired operating conditions.

The document is prepared by the Department of State's Overseas Post Lima and includes certifications from Guillermo Lopez, Deputy Facility Manager, and Patrick McElroy, Contracting Officer, who both attest to the accuracy and completeness of the information. The justification follows Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1), which allows for a sole source procurement when only one source is reasonably available, in this case due to the brand-specific technical requirements of the Multistack Chiller system.
