About this file

This Statement of Need (SON) details the MacDill Air Force Base's requirement for one new mid-volume integrated Chemistry/Immunology platform or separate Chemistry and Immunoassay platforms for their medical laboratory. The equipment must meet specific technical requirements, including a compact size not exceeding 11 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 5 feet high, with a current authorization to operate (ATO) certificate. The contract includes equipment use, service, calibrators, reagents, scheduled preventative maintenance, technical support, and compatibility with the MHS Genesis laboratory information system.

Key technical specifications include performing over 25 HbA1C tests per hour without pretreatment, using random access technologies, and capable of running multiple specific chemistry and immunoassay tests directly from primary collection tubes. The platform must provide liquid reagents ready to use, have error-proof design, prevent uncalibrated test performance, and include quality control notifications. The contractor will be responsible for initial validation studies, training laboratory personnel, providing technical updates, and ensuring the system meets College of American Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments guidelines. The contract is set for MacDill AFB's 6th Medical Group, with a 5-workday operational schedule and specific maintenance and performance thresholds.
