About this file

The document is a Darfur Contracting Act Certification form issued by the California Department of General Services (DGS) Procurement Division. This form is a mandatory certification required for companies seeking to bid on or submit a proposal for a State of California contract that have conducted business activities outside of the United States within the previous three years. The form provides two options for compliance: Option #1 allows companies to certify they are not a "scrutinized company" under Public Contract Code Section 10476, while Option #2 is for scrutinized companies that have obtained written permission from the Department of General Services to submit a bid or proposal.

The certification is specifically designed to ensure that companies bidding on state contracts have not engaged in business activities that conflict with the state's policy regarding certain international regions. Companies must disclose and certify their international business activities, with potential restrictions or additional approvals required for those with operations outside the United States in the past three years. The form requires companies to provide their name, Federal ID Number, and an authorized signature certifying their status, with the understanding that false certification could result in legal consequences under California law.
