About this file
This is an Invitation for Quotes (IFQ) #252688MKM issued by Sarasota County, Florida for a Shade Structure Replacement project at Pinecraft Park. The county seeks a contractor to replace the south awning of the shuffleboard courts, which was damaged during Hurricane Milton in October 2024. The project requires an aluminum shade structure constructed in the same footprint as the previous one, with specific dimensional requirements (70' x 10', front height of 12' and rear height of 10'). Contractors must provide engineered drawings suitable for permitting and wind ratings, and complete the work within 90 days of receiving a county purchase order. The total project budget is capped at $150,000, and offerors must submit two references demonstrating experience building or replacing shade structures within the past seven years.
The solicitation requires comprehensive insurance coverage, including Workers' Compensation, Commercial General Liability (with $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate), and Business Automobile Liability (with $1,000,000 combined single limit). The county will award the contract to the responsive and responsible offeror submitting the lowest total bid price, with local and American business preferences typically applied but explicitly noted as not applicable in this instance due to grant funding requirements. Payment will be made upon project completion, and all work and materials are to be warranted for one year from the county's acceptance of the work. Contractors must handle all necessary permitting, with permit fees to be reimbursed without markup.
