About this file
This is an Addendum No. 1 issued by the Athens-Clarke County Public Utilities Department on June 17, 2025, for the J.G. Beacham Water Treatment Plant Sodium Hypo Tank Rehabilitation project. The addendum clarifies contract requirements and modifies specifications for interested bidders. Proposals must be received by 3:00 p.m. local time on July 10, 2025. All bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum and any other addenda as part of their bid submission; failure to do so may result in bid rejection.
The addendum removes the requirement for a Georgia Utility Contractor License, which was previously specified as mandatory for the project. Additionally, Section 00425 is removed from the contract documents, and Section 00100 Paragraph 3.07.E.4 is removed from the specifications. These changes clarify that the FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) industry-related license requirement is no longer applicable to this project, addressing a significant barrier to entry for qualified contractors unfamiliar with this specific Georgia licensing requirement.
