About this file
This is Addendum #1 issued by Kenosha County, Wisconsin for Bid 2502 - Kenosha County Public Safety Building Fuel Island Replacement Rebid. Bids are due on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 3:15 Local Time at the Kenosha County Purchasing Division located at 1010 56th Street, Second Floor in Kenosha. The addendum clarifies several technical aspects of the project, including confirmation that the existing fuel management system will be reused with contractor responsibility for programming and setup, requirements for overflow alarms at the remote generator fill point, and specifications for new fuel lines from the diesel tank to the building interior.
The addendum provides additional technical clarifications regarding conduit specifications, confirming that 1-inch conduits can be used instead of 1½-inch for low-voltage usage, with one line designated for communications to the relocated reader and another for future use. It specifies that off-road diesel will be used in the diesel tank. The document also clarifies that no temporary walls need to be constructed within the building, though contractors must exercise caution and maintain dust-free conditions when working in the data room, lower mechanical room, and generator room. The second page contains a sign-in sheet from what appears to be a pre-bid conference with contact information for various attendees.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. Is the existing fuel management system being reused?
a. Yes, the existing system is being reused. All the final programming and re-setup is part of the contractor scope of work. This includes all reprogramming that’s required for the new dispensers and any required programming connecting to the existing generator.
2. Does the remote fill for the existing generator to the south need to have any overflow alarms?
a. Yes, the contractor is required to provide internal floats and alarm at the fill point. A combination lockable fill containment box should be used, this box can also contain the hardware for the overflow alarm.
3. Is the contract required to include new fuel lines from the diesel tank to the inside of the building?
a. Yes, per the details of the drawing on page FI-A200 schematic detail 3, all lines from the tank into the building are new lines.
4. Sheet FI-A102 indicates to provide two 1 ½ inch conduits for low-voltage usage. Can you explain what that’s for?
a. One line is to be used for the new communications line to the relocated reader. The second one is for future use and should be stubbed up along the face of the canopy column with a box and a sealed cover. The new lines can be 1 inch in lieu of the 1 ½ inch.
5. What type of diesel will be used in the diesel tank, will it be off-road diesel?
a. Yes, it will be off-road diesel.
6. It seems that the work will be conducted in either a storage area or a basement room. The wording in the 01 50 00-3 section suggests that we might be installing pipes in an office or public space. Do you envision using a temporary solution like a ZipWall, or are you considering something more robust? (Jon see email in folder)
a. There are no areas within the building that temporary walls need to be constructed. The contractor should use all caution and no dust when working within the data room, lower mechanical room and generator room.
