About this file

This document is a Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition for a furniture procurement by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Energy Aerospace. The procurement involves a one-time purchase of custom office furniture totaling $170,000, with a 90-day delivery lead time, to be sourced from a single vendor who was the initial interior designer for the facility. The furniture includes workstations, storage, seating, tables, and privacy screens, which will be customized to match existing furniture and tailored to the office building's design layout.

The justification cites 10 U.S.C. §3204(a)(1) as the statutory authority for sole-source procurement, noting that market research through GSA Advantage and commercial websites found no comparable alternatives in quality or design. The vendor's drawings and design concepts were deemed unique and innovative, and the contractor will be responsible for furniture delivery and installation. The Contracting Officer will ensure fair and reasonable pricing by comparing catalog listings, and the procurement is specifically for the DLA Energy Aerospace unit, which manages worldwide acquisition of specialized industrial chemicals, gases, and logistics support for various government and research entities.
