About this file
This is an Addendum #1 for an Audio Visual Systems contract for Northville Public Schools, issued by Wright & Hunter. The project involves upgrading audio-visual systems across multiple school sites, including Cooke, Moraine, Ridge Wood, Silver Springs, Thornton Creek, Winchester, Amerman, and Meads Mill schools. The Request for Bid (RFB) was made available on March 12, 2025, with contractor questions due by March 26, 2025, and answers provided by April 2, 2025. Bids are due on April 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with contract award expected on April 26, 2025. The project start date is May 4, 2025, with completion dates varying by school - August 22, 2025, for most schools, and phased completion for Amerman and Meads Mill as per attached drawings.
The addendum provides significant clarifications and modifications to the original RFB, including deletion of Northville High School from the scope of work, revisions to working hours (7am-4pm during summer, 3:30pm-11:00pm during school hours), and specific equipment and installation details. Key changes include replacing discontinued audio equipment like the Audio Technica System 10 with System 20 Pro, substituting the Denon DN-700CB with a Denon DN-300Z, and modifying microphone and speaker installations in various school locations. The bid requires a detailed breakdown by building, complete Bill of Materials with line-item pricing, bid forms, bid bond, familial disclosure form, and Iran Economic Sanctions form. All locations will receive new equipment racks, and bidders are required to quote specified base bid speakers before considering voluntary alternates.

Contractor Questions and Answers:
1. After verification with Audio Technica, it has been determined that the AT System 10 series has been discontinued. The replacement is the System 20 Pro. Should we use this series specification for replacement of the System 10 Pro?
Answer: Please use the System 20 Pro for the newly added microphones. It may be desirable to move some of the existing System 10 systems to other buildings so as to have consistent models in each system, where possible. Assume there will need to be some location reassignments of the existing systems to meet this goal, where possible
2. Can you please confirm that new microphones are only required in the following locations:
Amerman Café & Gym, Moraine Gym, Ridgewood Gym, Silver Springs Gym, Winchester Gym, Cooke School Gym.
Answer: That is correct.
3. The Denon DN-700CB has been discontinued, should we use the Tascam CD-200BT as the replacement.
Answer: Replace with a Denon DN-300Z . Add a Pixel Technologies AFHD-4 AM/FM antenna mounted externally to the building facing Southeast +/- 45 degrees. Provide plenum RG-6 cable where required. An inside building location can be used if it can be demonstrated this location picks up all local AM and FM stations
4. Can you please clarify the idea of the wired mic & plates as listed in 4.11 (F) 4-7?
Answer: Item 5 stands as is. Items 4,6, and 7 are the components to provide a wall mounted plate in the cafeterias to hang a handheld microphone utilizing the mic clip that comes with the microphone such that a microphone is easily accessible during lunch periods. Install this plate near the existing location of this item near a Mic jack on the front of the proscenium.
5. Are these inputs to the system that are being connected into one of the mic input plates on the block flow diagrams?
Answer: See answer to question #4.
6. What is the Atlas Sound AD-12BE supposed to connect to as this is just a flange?
7. Is the stainless-steel wall plate just the cover for the DS-XLR3F mic jack?
8. In the gym spaces how are the microphone jacks to be mounted? Should we be using the RDL SMB-1W boxes with Wiremold which are surface mount boxes? Are these boxes not a hazard in a gym space?
Answer: The Contractor shall use the RDL SMB-1W boxes with Wiremold raceway. Some of the existing boxes may be accessible and reusable but this is not verifiable at this time.
9. Are new racks required in all locations? If not, what locations get new racks?
Answer: All locations are to receive new racks.
10. Page 32 4.12(E): These jacks are listed as being Stainless steel, are these mic jacks to be different from the similar ones specified for the rest of the project listed on Page 30 4.11
(V) 1 & 2?
Answer: Yes.
11. Page 31 4.12 (A) this calls for a Soundcraft Ui16;n however, the drawing TA114 shows a QSC Core 110 audio processor. Please clarify.
Answer: Please replace this piece of equipment with a Soundcraft EPM12 Analog Mixer.
12. What locations are going to be provided with flush mounted boxes as it pertains to the A/V Equipment.
Answer: See answer to Question #6.
13. Is the intention of the (4) JBL CBT speakers in these cafeteria spaces for coverage or power?
Answer: Power over the normal lunch hour noise.
14. Would (2) CBT 1000 speakers be acceptable as a Voluntary alternate?
Yes- the CBT 1000 speakers are an acceptable Voluntary Alternate, however, the Base Bid speakers specified must be quoted before a voluntary alternate is considered.
15. Is there intention that the screen control be part of the control system or was it intended just to have a separate Low Voltage Screen control switch located by the screen/stage?
Answer: Both.
