About this file

This document is an Underwriting Information attachment for the Florida Department of Management Services' Miscellaneous Property Insurance Solicitation No. 25-64121509-ITB, covering insurance details for three specific university assets: FAU Athletics Video Production Trailer, FSU Seminole Dining Cruising Kitchen, and UF Ranger UAV LITE Camera. The document provides comprehensive specifications for each asset, including detailed equipment inventories, insurance limits, rates, and deductible structures. The trailer and equipment for FAU Athletics have an insurance limit of $957,193 with a $15,000 standard deductible, except for $100,000 for windstorm or hail and $50,000 while in transit. The FSU Seminole Dining Cruising Kitchen has an $835,000 limit and can be used for outdoor televised football games and entertainment. The UF Camera, a Ranger UAV LITE with LiDAR, has a $193,600 limit and is primarily used for mapping missions in coastal regions and forestry areas.

The insurance rates are consistently set at $1.88, with varying deductible structures tailored to each asset's unique risks. The UF Camera, for instance, has a $5,000 standard deductible but a $20,000 deductible while in flight. The document includes detailed technical specifications for the UAV camera, such as its LiDAR sensor characteristics, navigation system capabilities, and potential applications including utilities mapping, oil and gas surveying, and construction site surveying. The equipment is owned by the respective universities and operated by licensed professionals with significant experience. The comprehensive documentation provides insights into the specific assets, their usage, technical specifications, and insurance coverage parameters, demonstrating a thorough approach to protecting state university equipment and technological resources.

Camera Usage Notes.

• This sensor can be expected to fly 2-5 mapping missions per month depending on season. Take off (RTH) will always be from clear landing areas (not boats). All missions are preplanned mapping flights and will not fly over people.

• Where will flights occur? ¾ of flights are expected to occur in coastal regions (salt marshes, mangroves, and dunes) while the remaining flights are with collaborators in Forestry and IFAS at UF.

• Who owns the drone? University of Florida

• Who operates the drone? a licensed pilot and has over 200 hours of experience.

• Size of the drone? – 34lbs with batteries – 65inch propellor span

• Experience level of drone operation? licensed pilot and has over 200 hours of experience.

• Will the camera remain on the drone or be removed & stored elsewhere? The camera will be removed and stored elsewhere.

1 ) Rounded values.

2) Setting of intermediate PRR values possible.

3) Typical values for average conditions. Maximum range is specified for flat targets with size in excess of the laser beam diameter, perpendicular angle of incidence, and for atmospheric visibility of 23 km. In bright sunlight, the max range is shorter than under overcast sky.

4) Ambiguity to be resolved by post-processing.

5) Flat terrain assumed, scan angle +/- 45°.

6) If more than one target is hit, the total laser transmitter power is split and, accordingly, the achievable range is reduced.
