About this file
This is a comprehensive library furniture bid document for the Manchester Public Library in Connecticut, involving the Connecticut Library Consortium and Connecticut State Contract vendors. The bid (Bid #25/26-16) seeks competitive proposals for furnishing and installing library furniture across multiple rooms and spaces, with a total of approximately 400 furniture items from various manufacturers including Herman Miller, Enwork, KI, Arcadia, and others. The bid will be received electronically until October 16, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., with a bid opening via video conference, and the furniture delivery and installation scheduled between April 13, 2026, and May 1, 2026. Bidders must submit electronically to two email addresses and include specific details in their email subject line. The project encompasses furnishings for spaces including teen areas, children's rooms, study spaces, offices, and specialized areas like a mother's room and early learning zone.
The bid document includes detailed pricing forms with unit prices for each furniture item, with provisions for potential substitutions that must meet specified quality standards. Prevailing wage rates are applicable, and bidders must comply with Connecticut's labor regulations, including construction safety training requirements. The total project will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, with the Town of Manchester reserving the right to reject any or all bids. Insurance requirements are stringent, including comprehensive general liability, automobile liability, and workers' compensation coverage. Funding appears to be through the Town of Manchester, with potential involvement of state or local government resources. The bid emphasizes compliance with accessibility standards, including ADA guidelines and Connecticut Basic Building Code requirements.
