About this file
This document is Addendum #1 to Invitation for Bid (IFB) Number 25-10035-000 issued by the California Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero for Universal/E-Waste Recycling Services. The addendum clarifies the current waste collection infrastructure and collection methodologies at the facility. Specifically, the addendum confirms that DSH-Atascadero currently operates a 53-foot trailer on-site for universal waste collection and storage, with recyclable materials packaged in Gaylords on pallets, with oversized items placed individually on pallets. The document indicates that the department is willing to negotiate alternative collection bin sizes, types, and configurations with prospective vendors, provided that all other requirements and conditions of the original IFB remain in effect.
The addendum addresses three specific questions submitted by prospective bidders regarding the current waste management infrastructure and flexibility in collection methodologies. The responses clarify misconceptions about the number and type of bins currently in use and establish that the 53-foot trailer serves as temporary storage for recyclable materials prior to pickup. The document does not contain information regarding pricing terms, award dates, contract duration, or response deadlines, as these details remain governed by the original IFB documentation.

ADDENDUM #1
INVITATION FOR BID (IFB) NUMBER: 25-10035-000
SERVICES: Universal/E-Waste Recycling Services
The Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero is issuing this Addendum to modify and clarify the above referenced IFB in the following manner:
Item #1: Question and Answer
Question #1: Description of services states DSH currently uses 20- & 40-yard bins and a 53’ trailer for universal waste collection. How many bins, per size, are currently on location?
Answer #1: DSH-Atascadero currently only has a 53’ trailer on grounds for the collection of universal waste.
Question #2: Description of services states DSH currently uses 20- & 40-yard bins and a 53’ trailer for universal waste collection. What is the 53’ trailer used for? If the trailer is used for e-waste collection, what is the material collected/packaged in?
Answer #2: The 53’ trailer is used to store recyclable items until pick up. The materials are packaged in Gaylords on pallets. If the item is large it will go on a pallet by itself.
Question #3: Can the 20- & 40 yards bins be replaced with a different type of collection bin, cage or tote and placed into a 53’ trailer for pick-up service?
Answer #3: Yes, DSH-Atascadero is willing to work with the vendor on different size collection bins.
All other requirements and conditions of this IFB remain in full force and effect. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact me via email at ASHProcurement@dsh.ca.gov.
Sincerely, Kelley Blackshear Analyst II
