About this file
This is Addendum No. 2 for the City of Albany's Distribution Circuit Automation - Phase 1 Viper Switch Installation Project (Bid Ref. #25-031), issued on January 6, 2025. The project involves the installation of twenty-nine Viper Switches in the city's electrical distribution system, with bids due on January 13, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. The contract term is one year, though the project is expected to be completed within 6 months after receipt of equipment and materials.
The addendum clarifies several key requirements: contractors must obtain their own permits for construction work within road right of way, secure their own show-up area, and ensure double dead-end framing on existing poles with C1 configuration. The Viper switches must be left bypassed until programmed by the City of Albany Light Department. Traffic control costs should be incorporated into the contractor's bid as there is no separate line item. The addendum also specifies that a crew foreman cannot serve as the superintendent, and there is no rock adder provision for encountering rock while digging.
