About this file
This document is an Organic Input Material (OIM) Inspection Audit form from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), specifically the Fertilizing Materials Inspection Program. The form is a comprehensive inspection checklist designed to evaluate a firm's compliance with state regulations regarding the production, labeling, and handling of organic input materials. The audit covers multiple areas of assessment, including license and registration status, product labeling, ingredient sourcing, production processes, cleanout procedures, and potential nitrogen content verification for liquid materials.
The inspection audit is a confidential document that requires detailed documentation and verification of various operational aspects, such as mill assessments, tonnage reporting, ingredient documentation, production record-keeping, and adherence to National Organic Program (NOP) standards. The form provides a systematic approach for inspectors to evaluate a firm's practices, with sections for noting compliance issues, reviewing ingredient origins, checking production parameters, and identifying any necessary corrective actions. The document emphasizes the potential consequences of non-compliance, which could include product quarantine, cancellation of product registration, and potential administrative penalties.
