About this file

This is Addendum Two to Request for Bids #2410 issued by Kenosha County, Wisconsin, concerning 3M Safety and Security Window Film Installation at the Kenosha County Courthouse Campus located at 912 56th Street, Kenosha, Wisconsin. The addendum clarifies specifications for three window installations at the pretrial facility: Fire Exit Stairwell windows totaling 148" x 108" (6 panes), Intake Court Window Bank totaling 165.75" x 96.75" (12 panes), and Employee Entry Window Bank totaling 180.75" x 97" (12 panes). The addendum was issued on May 10, 2024, in response to bidder inquiries regarding the distinction between total window area measurements and individual pane dimensions, which had created approximately 3,000 square feet of measurement discrepancy.

The County clarified that all measurements provided represent the total combined area of the specified number of panes rather than individual pane dimensions, and noted these measurements are estimates. This clarification directly addresses bidder concerns regarding significant impacts to project pricing, bonding requirements, and final contract costs resulting from the ambiguity in the original specifications.

Yes.

Questions:

Q1 There is a point of concern and question in regards to the window size/count on the pretrial facility. The three specifically that we have concerns about are

1. Fire Exit Stairwell - 148" x 108" quantity 6

2. Intake Court Window Bank - 165.75" x 96.75" quantity 12

3. Employee Entry Window Bank - 180.75" x 97" quantity 12

During the walk through I do not recall seeing either windows this large or more to the point in those quantities. I am aware of the two entry ways on the north and east sides that have the groups/banks of windows, which I am guessing this is what these are referring to. Similarly with the exit stairwell it being a group of windows making up something of that size.

The issue at hand is that there is a very large significant difference between there being one set of windows with those total measurements and having multiple (6, 12, and 12,) windows of that size. From a square foot stand point, we are looking at about a 3,000 square foot difference. This would drastically affect not only our pricing and bonding needed, but would also have in turn have an effect on the final bill you would be paying.

A. The total area of 6 window panes equals 148” x 108”, the total area of the 12 intake court window bank is 165.75” x 96.75”, and the total are of the 12 employee entry window bank is 180.75” x 97”. These measurements are estimated.

Just to clarify, all of the total area window descriptions include all of the panes listed for that line. The measurements are not for the individual panes.
