About this file
This is Addendum #2 to solicitation 24-RQ140038-KR issued by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for 2024-2025 Fuel Truck(s) Replacement. The addendum extends the solicitation opening date from December 5, 2024 to December 10, 2024 at 9:30 AM ET. The document addresses six vendor questions regarding technical specifications, including acceptance of Ford's 6.7L V8 Powerstroke diesel engine in lieu of Inline 6 cylinder engine, Torqshift HD 10-speed automatic transmission instead of Allison 2500 RDS transmission, service brake interlock requirements, air dryer specifications, and body vendor information.
The addendum provides specific technical clarifications, noting that the Ford engine and transmission alternatives are acceptable with proper documentation of deviations, while the Bendix AD-9si air dryer is acceptable in lieu of the Bendix AD-9. The document specifies that body vendor selection is at the vendor's discretion, and refers vendors to section 4.9 of the IFB regarding demonstration and descriptive literature requirements for pilot review requests. The addendum maintains all other terms and conditions from the original solicitation.

I wanted to ask you and your team if you would be willing to participate in a Pilot review of the first completed truck and fuel tank body, should we be awarded the bid, so that you all can thoroughly review the body for any concerning items should there be any present. This would be a great way of being able to address any issues at the beginning so they can be changed and or modified on the subsequent units.
Please refer to section 4.9 Demonstration and Descriptive Literature of the IFB.
