About this file
This document is an Emergency Purchase Extension Approval form from the State of Illinois Chief Procurement Office for General Services. The Requesting Agency is the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs, Division of Manteno. The emergency contract is for the removal and replacement of the sewer chewer system at the Manteno facility due to a failed sewer system causing a backup of sewage. The initial emergency contract was awarded for $40,000 and is being extended for an additional $84,986.03 to alter the existing sewer lines to properly accommodate the new sewer chewer system, as the original manufacturer is no longer producing the required equipment. The extension will cover the period from February 13, 2024 through August 11, 2024.
The extension is necessary to correct the emergency condition and avoid further damage to the facility and disruption of operations. A competitive procurement process cannot be used to meet the immediate need, as sewage backup would force the facility to shut down until the issue could be resolved through normal procurement procedures. There is currently no competitive procurement in process to replace this emergency contract.
