| Plot Combine with Trade-In |
The Plot Combine Harvester must be a self-propelled plot combine that is well suited for row crop research for rice and soybeans.
Combine Specifications: minimum requirements that must be met:
1. Cab Enclosure
a. A/C, Heater, dust filter with AM/FM Bluetooth Radio
b. Extra passenger seat for sample collection and processing
c. Air ride suspension on seats in cabin
d. Must have grain transfer delivery to cab for sub sampling
e. Front and rear lighting package.
f. Must have concave adjustment in the cab.
2. Accessibility
a. Must have easily accessible access to the engine compartment
b. Must have easily accessible access to the drive and threshing elements
3. Engine:
a. The combine must use a proven TIER 5 final engine, with at least 125 horsepower. The engine requirement will provide enough power to do every job more efficiently, saving us time and money.
b. Must have at minimum 40-gal fuel tank capacity
4. Powertrain
a. Axle width is to be set on 80 inches (from center of tire to center of tire)
b. 3-speed hydrostatic drive with 4x4 and differential lock: Hydrostatic drive with 4x4 and differential lock helps the researcher access any field when the crop is ready to harvest.
c. 4x4 with differential lock
i. Wet fields that would normally not be accessible with a 2-wheel machine can be accessed with the 4x4 and with the differential lock, we have the ability to keep the combine running smoother and straighter in softer, looser soils.
5. Cleaning
a. 540 Nm on threshing drum: The combine needs at least 540 Nm on the threshing drum. Which is needed for the high yields at our research station.
b. 4-straw walkers with double sieve system
i. 4-straw walkers with at least 1.9 square meter separation surface with 2 high falling steps.
ii. The combine must have a double sieve system with a three-step air cleaning system and a minimum amount of 44 square feet of cleaning surface is needed to provide clean samples and accurate data.
1. A large cleaning surface in the combine is needed to get clean samples, which is necessary for the on-board weighing system to provides weight, test weight and moisture accurately. The weighing system would provide incorrect data if samples would not be clean. A smaller cleaning surface would not be able to clean the grain sufficiently.
c. Must have cylinder slow down capability (cylinder speed 300-800 rpms)
d. Must have a universal type concave for all crops.
6. Grain Transport System:
a. Pneumatic system by high flow air fan/turbine to move grain throughout system.
b. All tubing and curve parts in the transport system must be made of stainless steel. This includes all areas where seed will travel from leaving the seed tray under the sieves to the cyclone, Harvestmaster to the grain tank, and from seed tray to grain tank when bulk harvesting. Stainless steel is needed to aid in reducing damage from abrasive crops such as rice.
7. Must have HARVESTMSTER H2 Classic GrainGage with Mirus and Mesa Pro Rugged Tablet including:
a. Safety: The weighing system must be able to be calibrated without having the machine running. This increases the safety of the machine tremendously since there are no running parts, pulleys or belts while working on the machine.
b. Will collect sample weight, sample moisture, and test weight automatically. Must have level detect. Must provide hard copy data printout or electronic data printout. Must have in-cab sampling capability. The data system is to harvest strip plots nonstop and automatically total and combine sub sample data. Must have an air return system from weighing system to cab for sampling.
c. The Combine must be capable of harvesting 3-4 plots per minute mix free.
d. Field research software –with harvest module and notetaking Capability.
8. Header options
a. 2.0-meter grain table with crop lifters, must have the ability to float on the without tires, and be capable of harvesting plots with multiple row spacing’s (6” to 40” rows or solid seeded rows).
b. Reversible feeder housing: The combine must have the ability to reverse the header from the cabin for the safest and quickest way to keep the combine from plugging and having clean suitable samples.
c. Cleaning brushes on reel.
d. Electric over Hydraulic reel adjustment forward/inward.
e. 6 crop lifters
9. Replacement part sources
a. The combine must have the availability of parts locally, and do not require costly and time-consuming importation from Europe. The combine can have no more than 7 belts, which all need to be able to be sourced locally.
10. Straw Chopper
11. Accessories:
a. Must have a minimum of a 55-bushel grain tank with camera. Hydraulic folding auger.
b. Must have a minimum of five cameras at various locations for both safety and monitoring equipment.
c. Must have an on board air compressor for cleanout in the field.
12. Must be willing to do a trade-in for 2 plot combines. One combine is a 2008 Kincaid 8XP & a 2017 Zurn 150. If the vendor is going to submit a bid including trade-in value offers, the vendor will need to submit two separate bids. One bid for the machine without trade-in value offers and a second bid for the machine with trade-in value offers. Details of each machine are listed below.
2017 Zurn 150: Trade-In
