The district welcomes alternative proposals from offerors that address the technical and commercial considerations of the project.
The document does not provide details on pricing terms, set-asides, incumbents, funding requirements, or other salient commercial information. Offerors are encouraged to submit both a main proposal and any alternative proposals they deem appropriate based on their expertise.

HOUSTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
For
BMS Track Repaving
RFP NUMBER 24-033
Questions and Answers
1. Question: What is the estimated cost or budget?
Answer: No estimated budget has been determined at this time.
2. Question: Currently the scope calls for existing asphalt to be milled. For existing base to be laser graded and then repaved. The existing asphalt thickness varies from 3 - 3.75 inches according to the cores by Preston Testing. If all asphalt is removed, then the specs of 1.5" binder and 1.25" of topping would not be adequate to get the track back to current grade and current outside curb height.
We recommend that you mill 2-3 inches (board to specify) and repave with the same thickness.
Otherwise, you would need to figure bringing in additional base and laser grading, which would be additional cost to the school board.
Answer: An Offeror may submit more than one Proposal. The Offeror may submit (a) a Main Proposal in accordance with all the requirements of this RFP and (b) one or more “Alternative Proposal”. The District welcomes any Alternative Proposal that an Offeror considers appropriate in light of its technical and commercial knowledge. An Offeror should make clear in any Alternative Proposal the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed alternative.
