About this file

The document is a cost proposal for Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 24-0152a issued by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) for ground application of pesticides in Alameda County. The project involves pest eradication and control services for exotic fruit flies and other plant pests, with a three-year contract option that includes annual renewal periods. The bid solicits pricing for various pesticide application methods, including spray truck applications, hand or backpack sprayer applications for fruit fly bait stations, and pelletized or granular formulation applications. Specific pesticides that may be used include GF-120 NF Naturalyte, STATIC Spinosad ME, Dipel Pro DF, Thuricide BT, and Acelepryn.

The cost proposal requires bidders to provide unit costs per gallon for different application methods, including equipment and fuel costs, with a fixed rate for all pesticides used. The bid selection will be determined by both competitive application rates and pesticide costs based on CDFA usage. Additional services include a PCA (Pest Control Advisor) Lead Services component, which involves providing pesticide safety training, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with California Department of Pesticide Regulation laws. The pricing structure is designed to cover all costs associated with mixing, loading, and applying pesticides, with the understanding that application rates will be set by product labels and special local need (SLN) labels.
