About this file

This document is an Emergency Purchase Statement from the Illinois Chief Procurement Office for General Services. It details the emergency procurement of maintenance and surveillance services for traffic control devices along I-294 and I-290 in Illinois. The vendor, RoadSafe Traffic Systems, Inc., will be responsible for repairing or replacing various traffic control elements such as glare screens, barriers, attenuators, signage, and work zone equipment. This emergency contract is expected to run from May 17, 2024 to August 14, 2024 at an estimated cost of $613,500.

The statement indicates that RoadSafe was selected due to their prior experience installing the existing traffic control devices, which will minimize disruption to the traveling public. No Business Enterprise Program (BEP) contractors were included in this emergency procurement, as the previous contract did not have BEP goals and it is in the State's/Tollway's best interest to utilize the incumbent contractor. The contract will be funded through Tollway revenue rather than state-appropriated funds.
