Summary of Addendum 1 to ITB 23-0029: Greenway Parking Lot & Civil Work
Addendum 1 to Invitation to Bid 23-0029 is a specification document issued by the Beaverton School District for the Greenway Elementary School Parking Lot and Civil Work project located at 9150 SW Downing Drive, Beaverton, Oregon. This addendum provides missing technical specifications and construction standards necessary to complete the original bid documents. The project encompasses the design and installation of new paved parking lot areas, concrete sidewalks, stormwater improvements and treatment facilities, and temporary portable buildings. Key specifications cover general conditions, electrical systems, structured cabling communications infrastructure, site clearing, earthwork, erosion and sediment control, aggregate base courses, concrete paving, irrigation systems, soil preparation, seeding, planting, and landscape maintenance. The bid closing date is April 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM Pacific Time. The project manager is Steven Sparks, Executive Administrator, at the Beaverton School District (503-356-4449). The Engineer of Record is Harper Houf Peterson Righellis Inc. All work must comply with current Oregon Department of Transportation standards, City of Beaverton requirements, and Clean Water Services standards.
The specification document establishes comprehensive technical requirements across multiple divisions addressing site conditions, material standards, installation procedures, quality assurance measures, and inspection protocols. Contractors must adhere to National Electrical Code standards for electrical work, TIA/EIA standards for structured cabling systems, and ASTM standards for soil testing and material specifications. The contractor is responsible for all temporary facilities, erosion control measures, tree protection, and environmental compliance throughout the construction period. Warranty periods for landscape materials and installations are specified at 12 months from Substantial Completion. The addendum emphasizes coordination with existing utilities, protection of designated trees within critical root zones, stormwater management compliance with federal and state permits, and site restoration to specified tolerances. Performance standards require maintaining 95% compaction density for structural fills, establishing 90% vegetation coverage for seeded areas, and providing one-year landscape maintenance services following project acceptance.
