Text version

1. Can you provide window sizes and quantity per floor?

A1. There are 172 windows of various sizes totaling 4,333 square feet. Drawings of the buildings are available upon request. Many of the windows are 5’ wide and around 6’5” tall. See Window sizes attachment, note that they are outside measurements.

2. Is it union/Davis Bacon/Cert Payroll A2. Requirement is viewed as a supply purchase with incidental installation, not construction.

Therefore there is no Davis Bacon requirement.

3. Will the spaces be occupied during installation or non‐occupied.

A3: Yes, these are offices that are currently occupied and personnel would be present.

4. Will this be completed during normal hours or off hours and weekends and what are the hours we can work.

A4: Yes, this will be completed during normal duty hours (Mon ‐ Fri: 0800‐1800), per SOW. The areas where the vendors will be working will require them to be escorted if workers do not have the proper clearance. The organization is not going to require personnel to come in on weekends in order to escort workers. Once a work schedule is developed personnel in those work areas will be notified of the requirement to move desks and equipment 2 to 3 feet from the installation area.

5. Is there any existing film.

A5: No.

6. Is there going to be a site visit opportunity?

A6. As an end of fiscal year requirement, there is insufficient time to schedule a site visit. Solicitation closing is approximately one week after issuance.

7. Will this be completed in one phase?

A7: All installation is completed within 90 days of contract award. Activities on 3rd and 4th FLR are all mission critical. Once contract is awarded the customer has no issue doing a walk‐thru of the building with the vendor and working together to come up with a schedule that works for all parties.

8. Is there any high work or areas we will need a scaffold or lift.

A8: Yes, windows are on the 3rd &4th floor of a 6‐story building.

9. Are the blinds inside or outside mount ‐ could impact the edge seal if inside mount and close to the glass ‐ may need to be relocated.

A9: Blinds are inside mounted and easily removable. Customer can provide vendor with a quick tutorial on how to remove blinds. Customer would prefer that the vendor take down blinds as they go because there is still a security requirement for window coverings for the windows on the 3rd & 4th FLR.

Customer would prefer that the vendor also reinstall (clip blinds back in) upon completion of the installation of the RF Film, if possible. Customer assumes there is a required drying time before blinds can be reinstalled following installation of RF Film and would not want to mess up newly installed film by rehanging before the proper time.

10. The edge of the film has to be caulked. If the brackets are too close to the gasket and glass, while they may be easily unclipped, it is possible they will not fit back once film and caulk is complete. Is a sanitized photo available to confirm if a site visit is not feasible?

A10: We cannot take photographs in the required areas because of the classification of the areas.
