About this file
This is a commodity specification document issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services, for frozen juice procurement at Wernersville State Hospital. The specification details requirements for portion-packed frozen juices and related juice products to be supplied to the facility. The juices must be prepared from 100% pure juice processed from concentrate, unsweetened with no added sugar or preservatives, and packaged in 4-ounce disposable plastic cups with individual labels. The specification requires a minimum shelf life of one year when frozen or five days when chilled at 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below, with packaging that features easy-opening tops and rolled edges to prevent leakage. The commodity class includes unsweetened juices in seven varieties (apple, grape, grapefruit, orange, orange-pineapple, pineapple, and prune), juice drinks in six varieties (apricot nectar, cranberry, fruit punch, lemonade, peach nectar, and pear nectar), all ordered by the dozen, and orange juice concentrate in frozen, unsweetened Grade A format. Acceptable brands are limited to Ardmore Farms, Minute Maid, and Sun Cup, with all products required to meet USDA and FDA Grade A standards.
The specification does not contain information regarding pricing terms, contract duration, renewal options, set-asides, bid due dates, response deadlines, or funding sources. The document provides technical specifications and product requirements only, without detailing procurement timeline, award procedures, or financial terms for the local purchase proposal.
