About this file
This is a Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) issued by the U.S. Coast Guard for the replacement of ship service generator and shore tie circuit breakers on Medium Endurance (WMEC-210) Class cutter hulls 615-630, excluding hulls 622, 623, 628, and 629.
The order directs the replacement of existing Siemens Allis LA-800 and General Electric AKR-7S-30/AKR-10S-30 circuit breakers with Square D NT08L Breakers (NSN 5925-01-603-8309). The work must be accomplished within 60 months of receipt by a commercial contractor, Maritime Technical Services. The installation requires 72.5 total labor hours and includes removal of old breakers, installation of three new circuit breakers per vessel with 635 VAC 3-phase capability, 800 Amp frame, and 85,000 Amp interrupting capacity. The prototype was installed on USCGC DEPENDABLE (WMEC-626) in Norfolk, VA in July 2017. The contractor must provide a 5-year warranty and perform work at various home ports including Norfolk VA, Port Angeles WA, Cape Canaveral FL, and other locations where the cutters are stationed.
