About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of eight (8) diamond disks as filter material to be installed into the 20-ID filter assembly at the Advanced Photon Source Upgrade (APS-U) project at Argonne National Laboratory.
The SOW specifies the technical requirements for the diamond disks, including dimensions, material properties (optical grade CVD diamond with high thermal conductivity), cleaning, and packaging/shipping instructions. Four disks are required with a thickness of 0.5 mm +/- 10% and four disks with a thickness of 0.85 mm +/- 10%, all with a diameter of 15 mm +/- 0.5 mm. The disks must be shipped within 2 weeks of receiving the purchase order. Quality assurance requirements and acceptance criteria are also detailed. The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation issued by the Department of Energy Office of Science for the procurement of these diamond disks.

1. Scope of Work The APS-U Project is procuring a total of eight (8) Diamond Disks as filter material to be installed into the 20-ID filter assembly (A300-FL0400). There are two thickness required. This document specifies the details of diamond disk dimensions with tolerance, material property requirement, QA and delivery of the diamond disks.
2. Deliverables Four (4) Diamond Disk, 0.5 mm thick, 15 mm dia.
Four (4) Diamond Disk, 0.85 mm thick, 15 mm dia.
specified by the requirements outlined in this document.
3. Schedule Diamond disks to be shipped out in 2 weeks upon receiving the purchase order.
4. Technical Requirements
Technical Specifications
The diamond disks will be used as filter material to attenuate X-ray intensity in white beam with high power. The filter assembly is a UHV assembly. Each disk will absorb about 150 Watts of power. The diamond shall be CVD diamond optical grade with the highest thermal conductivity. The size and tolerance is specified in Table 1

Material Requirements
· The diamond disk for filter must be optical grade, polished, best to preserve x-ray coherence, with thermal conductivity at room temperature equal or greater than 1.8 W/mm°C.
Cleaning
· Diamond disks must be cleaned in compliance with section 3.3 of ANL document APS Engineering Standard – Vacuum Designs (APS-PPR-VAC-000-A017-000128).
Shipping Each diamond disk to be packaged in individual plastic bag with label to indicate its thickness and diameter and the entire order to be shipped in padded container to prevent shipping damage.
The shipping container shall be labeled on the outside with the information shown below:
· PO numbers and quantities of enclosed parts
· Recipient: Argonne National Laboratory, Advanced Photon Source Upgrade, Attn: Yifei Jaski
· Address: 9700 South Cass Avenue, Argonne, IL 60439
5. Quality Assurance Requirements
The Diamond Disk shall be provided in accordance with the quality requirements identified on the ANL-407 form included with the purchase order.
6. Acceptance Criteria
· No visible shipping damage
· Visual inspection of diamond disk to see if there are any scratches or cracks
· Diamond material certification indicate the diamond is optical grade
