About this file
Amendment 002 is a document from the Department of the Treasury, Bureau of the Fiscal Service for RFI 20356425N00003 regarding FMSHRC Data Center Services. The amendment provides responses to eight vendor questions about technical infrastructure requirements, including confirmation that floor plans, cabling diagrams, and rack elevations will be made available prior to final solution design. Key technical details include that wireless site surveys are permitted, there are no unusual RF constraints, and new infrastructure must be compatible with Palo Alto Prisma and Panorama devices.
The government indicates some specific technical parameters for the data center services, such as accepting a single-path network configuration (though redundancy could be explored), reusing existing patch panels and horizontal cabling where possible, and having rack space, power, and cooling constraints at new switch and router installation locations. Vendors must ensure their proposed equipment can integrate with FMSHRC's existing network authentication and monitoring tools, with a specific emphasis on compatibility with Palo Alto security solutions.

Amendment 002
The purpose of this amendment is:
1. To provide the Government’s answer to vendor questions.
Please find vendor submitted questions below with the Government’s response to the questions.
1. Will floor plans, cabling diagrams, and rack elevations be made available prior to final solution design?
The Government Response:
Yes
2. Will wireless site surveys be permitted to determine final access point and WIDS/WIPS placement?
3. Are there any known RF constraints or secure facility requirements that may affect wireless design (e.g., spectrum coordination or shielding)?
Outside of a normal commercial building/infrastructure, no.
4. Are there any rack space, power, or cooling constraints at the locations where new switches and routers will be installed?
5. Should the design include redundant core switching and routing, or is a single-path configuration acceptable?
Single path is acceptable but redundancy could be explored as an option
6. Will existing patch panels and horizontal cabling be reused where possible, or should all materials be assumed to be replaced?
Reused where possible.
7. Will the new infrastructure be required to integrate with an existing NAC solution or authentication platform such as Cisco ISE?
Will need compatibility with Palo Alto Prisma and Panorama devices.
8. Are there centralized logging, SIEM, or network monitoring tools in place that the proposed equipment must support?
Will need to be compatible with FMSHRC’s Palo Alto Prisma solution.
