About this file

This document is a Questions & Answers memorandum from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) regarding a platinum replating contract for titanium anodes, Notice ID 2031ZA25Q00208. The requirement is for a new contract with no incumbent, though 22 of 27 titanium anodes were previously purchased under award #2031ZA19P00604. The memorandum addresses three key questions from potential contractors: contract newness, alternative technical approaches, and shipping responsibilities.

Specifically, the BEP rejected two proposed alternative methods suggested by a potential subcontractor for platinum-clad niobium mesh application, stating these options are outside the Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements and not technically acceptable. The agency confirmed it will be responsible for shipping the items to the vendor at BEP's cost. The document provides a Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) link for additional details about the previous related purchase.
