Questions and Answers

2031ZA21Q00207

Question 1: There was a mention in the RFQ of infrared lenses but we wanted to make sure you are aware no infrared lenses are available with a prescription.

Response: The BEP requests that vendors offer infrared tint/coating options to the employees as an additional out of pocket expense.

Question 2: What is the parking situation that will be available for the optician for the on-site visits?

Response: On-site parking is requested at the time of visit, but may not always be available. If on-site parking is not available at the time of the optician’s visit, there is a secured parking garage across the street from the BEP Annex Bldg. The parking garage (Portals II) is managed by a private company. The vendor will be responsible for all costs associated with the parking garage. Current parking rate is $23.

Question 3: Due to COVID, the optician coming on-site was wondering if your facility would be open to scheduling 10 minute intervals with each employee needing to see the optician during the on-site visits. This will ensure proper social distancing as well as allow each employee a safe one-on-one experience. Please let us know if this is an option you would be open to.

Response: The BEP is developing its own COVID-19 policy governing on-site visits from the optician to include 10 minute intervals between employee visits. In addition, there are requirements for both the employee and the optician to wear a facial covering and to practice social distancing during the consultation/frame selection process until the actual frame fitting phase begins.
