About this file

This document contains questions and responses related to a solicitation by the Department of the Treasury Bureau of Engraving and Printing for a GonioSpectrophotoMeter. The solicitation seeks a full spectrum light source that can test samples up to banknote size from 400-1700nm across a range of angles both in and out of plane from 1mm x 1mm spectral spots. Payment terms are net 30 via invoice through IPP. The solicitation number is 2031ZA21Q00087 and represents a request for quote issued as a total small business set-aside.

QUESTIONS & RESPONSES

Question 1: Is there was a specific make and model for the GonioSpectrophotoMeter that is preferred?

Response: No specific make or model. BEP will evaluate technical acceptability of quote based on requirements stated in the SOW.

Question 2: First question will be the Spectrometers range. The standard sensor can map out visual light in the range of 360nm to 800nm whereas the upgraded sensor can map waveforms as low as 200 up to 850, encompassing the full UV range of A, B & C.

Response: We are looking for a range from 400-1700 nm

Question 3: Secondary question would be what is the largest light source you would need to measure. I did see you're looking to test marking ink using a medium to derive the results, I just need to know the largest testing material as the units have physical limitations depending on the model chosen.

Response: We are not testing light sources. I believe the vendor is referring to a different type of goniospectrometer. We are looking for a full spectrum light source to allow for test the full spectral range from 400-1700 nm at a full range of angles both in and out of plane from the sample. We will be looking for spectra and images of the test sample across the motion range.

The testing materials will range in size up to banknote size (66mm x165mm). The bigger issue is the small spectral spot size we are looking for, smaller than 5mm x 5mm with a preference for

1mm x 1mm.

Question 4: Can you please confirm the payment terms?

Response 3: Payment term is Net 30. Invoice must be submitted through IPP to be processed for payment.
