About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to the bid package for the Mill Brook Bogs Wetland Restoration Project – Phase II, issued by SLR International Corporation on behalf of the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW-2026-085). The addendum addresses five key bidder questions regarding material specifications and project responsibilities. The clarifications confirm that Prefabricated Pedestrian Bridge #1 shall be constructed of weathering steel per specifications; timber for Pedestrian Bridge #2 and wetland crossings shall be pressure-treated pine or douglas fir; steel beams for Pedestrian Bridge #2 shall conform to ASTM A-572 Grade 50; wildlife and reptile management shall be handled by MassWildlife at no cost to the contractor; and the Funding Authority shall be listed as USFWS/NRCS. These modifications supersede all previous bid package documentation and represent critical clarifications for contractors preparing responses to this wetland restoration procurement.

The addendum does not address pricing terms, set-asides, incumbent information, or funding source details. However, it establishes that MassWildlife coordination is a mandatory contractor responsibility, requiring the contractor to coordinate the agency's presence on site during critical construction activities to ensure wildlife protection and documentation compliance. The specifications reinforce the technical requirements for bridge and crossing materials, ensuring consistency with the project's engineering standards and long-term durability in the wetland environment.
