About this file

This Addendum No. 01 is issued by FEH Design for the South Dakota Department of the Military, specifically for the Install ACFT Field with Overhead Structure project located at Camp Rapid in Rapid City, South Dakota. The project involves installing a synthetic turf Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) field with defined lanes for four specific activities: Three-Repetition Maximum Deadlift, Hand-Release Push-Up, Sprint-Drag-Carry, and Plank. The project is scheduled to begin in October 2025, with substantial completion expected 240 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed and first scheduled use of the completed area set for June 16, 2026. A pre-bid meeting was held on September 4, 2025, with multiple contractors and representatives in attendance.

The synthetic turf surfacing will be performance-grade, with specific requirements including a 10-year minimum manufacturer's warranty covering excessive wear, fiber tensile strength, and UV light deterioration. The turf will be field green in color with white lines, featuring a 3/4-inch pile height and specific technical specifications for durability and performance. The project includes installing overhead protection, LED lighting, and a PA system, with careful coordination required for existing lawn sprinkler systems in the area. The base design product is PGPN by AstroTurf, with alternative manufacturers like SynLawn and Advanced Polymer Technology also approved. The project aims to create a standardized training and testing environment for local soldiers, with a focus on reducing injury risk and providing year-round training capabilities.

These are provided for reference to assist the electrician in determining how to get the conduit to the west end of the building. The Conduit will be required to exit the west end of the building where the mechanical equipment fence is blocking the view of the west end of the building.

2. There is a lawn sprinkler system that will be encountered when routing of the underground conduit from the building to the new Panel ACFT. The lawn sprinkler system is located from the building to Hazel Avenue. There is no existing lawn sprinkler north of Hazel Avenue.
