About this file
This is a bid schedule document for the Commonwealth of Virginia's 2025 Tree Planting Project at the Spruce Pine Site in Buchanan County. The project involves planting trees on reclaimed abandoned mine lands located approximately 1.6 miles northwest of the Pilgrims Knob community. The site features typical slopes of 2:1 with varying soil conditions ranging from shallow rocky soils to loose uncompacted material. The project requires two line items: tree planting labor and trees, with each item specified in bundles of 100 units, totaling 28 bundles for an approximate quantity of 2,800 units across both categories.
Bidders must provide unit prices for both tree planting labor and trees, with the total bid price used to determine contract award value and performance and payment bond requirements. A bid bond is required for all bids of $100,000 or more. The specification emphasizes that payment will be made based on actual units used and verified in the field, and bidders must ensure pricing accuracy before submission. Any bidder entering $0 as a unit price or leaving the unit price blank will be considered non-responsive. In cases of pricing extension errors, the unit price shall govern over the extended total price.
