About this file

This Request for Information (RFI) from the Air Force Materiel Command seeks potential sources for producing the AN/FMQ-23 Fixed Base Weather Observation System (FBWOS). The system is capable of accurately sampling and reporting meteorological data including temperature, wind speed/direction, visibility, cloud base height, pressure, precipitation, lightning, runway light intensity, and ice accretion. Interested companies are requested to submit a two-page capabilities package by 17 October 2025, detailing their ability to produce three to seven AN/FMQ-23 systems annually, relevant experience with automated weather systems, industry certifications, and compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Respondents must provide a cover sheet with company name, UEI and CAGE codes, socioeconomic status, location, and point of contact. The RFI emphasizes that this is a market research request and not a commitment to procure services, with no associated funds or guaranteed future solicitation. Questions and responses should be directed to Brett Maguire (brett.maguire@us.af.mil) or Capt. Christopher Thier (christopher.thier@us.af.mil) from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Aerospace Management Systems Division, located at Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts.
