About this file

This is Addendum 01 to the bidding and contract documents for the MVSB1 Alterations project in Clinton, Iowa, issued by the Iowa Army National Guard with architectural services provided by Shive-Hattery, Inc. The addendum modifies the original bidding documents dated June 25, 2025, and establishes key project parameters including an estimated construction cost of $209,000. Bids are due by 1:00 PM Central Time on July 18, 2025, submitted through the State of Iowa IMPACS system at https://bidopportunities.iowa.gov in accordance with specification sections 00 21 00 and 00 11 00. A virtual link for bid opening is provided in the Advertisement for Bids. The project involves alterations to an existing building that may remain partially occupied during construction, requiring contractors to maintain accessible egress capabilities and secure the building after hours. The Owner will provide power, gas, and water but will not supply toilet, phone, or internet facilities. The Owner will move all building contents except existing caging, making means and methods for installation around the caging the contractor's responsibility.

The addendum specifies that no badges are required for site access, no fencing is required around the project area, and contractors must provide a six-person meeting table for construction progress meetings without requiring a job trailer. Contractors are responsible for providing weekly waste removal and Waste Disposal Reports per specification section 01 74 19, with salvaged item reviews conducted by the Owner. Interior enclosures must be constructed using framing and reinforced polyethylene sheet materials with sealed edges, and contractors must photograph existing conditions if permitted to use Owner facilities to ensure proper restoration of finishes, flooring, walls, paint, plumbing fixtures, stairs, lifts, and elevators upon project completion. The addendum replaces section 01 50 00 entirely and revises section 09 91 13 regarding exterior painting to specify hollow metal doors and frames only.
