QUESTIONS
1. The specification is calling for TXDOT Type A Grade III base course for Hatch New Mexico will NMDOT Base Course be allowed this will be more of an economical haul rate to deliver the base course than a TXDOT Type A Grade III coming from a Texas Quarry?
2. Will IBWC allow TXDOT Recycled Concrete Base Course (see specification attached ) for the FT Hancock site which will be more of an economical haul rate?
ANSWERS:
1. The Contractor shall furnish and stockpile between 3,000 and 15,000 tons of flexible base material (road classification base material) in accordance with the requirements of “Texas Department of Transportation, 2014 Standard Specifications for Construction and Maintenance of Highways, Streets and Bridges” per TXDOT #247, Flexible Base, Crushed Stone Basecourse- Type A Grade 3 or equivalent NMDOT base material. Contractor shall be responsible for all equipment, labor, supplies, and any permits required to deliver material to each designated location. Contractor shall abide by all local, state, county, and federal laws, and regulations.
2. Yes, as long as it meets the TX DOT/NMDDOT requirements for the size and spec it will meet the needs.
