2/16/2024
Per T7.1, the specified ceiling speaker is an
Atlas FAPTC-W with is a 6.5" coaxial speaker typically used for source audio systems. The description is for a 12" round. Please clarify if a basic round paging speaker (Atlas SD72W-
KIT as an example) is desired or confirm that the FAPTC-W is the required speaker for the paging zones.
The SD72W-KIT is an acceptable replacement.
Updated in addendum 1.
2/16/2024
Per T7.1, the specified wall paging speaker is an Atlast SM42T which is a surface mount speaker. The description is for a horn speaker. Please confirm which is to be provied.
Provide the Atlas SM42T per the part #.
2/16/2024
Per T7.1, the specified clock calls for it to be recessed but the part number is for a 4", 6-digit, surface mount with a 4 degress slope.
Primex offers a recessed clock only in 2.5" 6-digit. Please clarify.
Clock locations replaced with an Atlas IPX clock/speaker system per the Owner's direction.
Refer to the addendum 1 drawing where a C1
(clock only) or C2 (combined clock speaker) will be required. Both C1 and C2 device will receive a speaker wire tied to the identified zone in plans and network cabling.
2/16/2024
RS1 and RS2 room schedulers do not have
Cat6 data count indicated in the symbol legend or on the floorplans like the other IP-device symbols do (i.e. cameras). It is assumed one horizontal Cat6 data cable is required. Please confirm.
Information Outlet Schedule updated in addendum 1.
2/19/2024 Where are cameras 02-08, -09, and -10 on the drawings?
Remove Cameras 02-08, -09, and -10.
2/19/2024
Exterior parking lot cameras are not on the camera schedule but are on the overall exterior drawing. Only one of the cameras is numbered - EXT-01. It looks like they are calling out (3) three lens multisensors and (3) fixed dome cameras. I'm assuming these will all mount to light poles. Please confirm what of the exterior cameras is to be included in the bid.
Provide (4) CM6 cameras for the exterior light pole locations. These are to be mounted on poles.

2/19/2024
2/T3.7 indicates two rooms have a 2nd camera and that all other Instructional
Studios are "rough-in only". To clarify, does this mean that ALL Instructional Studios are to receive a recessed in-wall box to support a future 2nd camera? The Instructional
Studios that are indicated to only have one camera do not show a symbol for a 2nd future camera that would indicate a rough-in need and location. Also, please confirm that this specialty in-wall recessed camera mount is to be supplied by the Technology
Contractor in this bid package.
Yes, all Instructional Studios shall have the infrastructure for a second camera. The rough-in for the camera is noted on the T1 series drawings under SC-CM-W. The wall box and rough-in installation is to be provided by the E.C. per the matrix of responsibility.
2/19/2024
In the prebid meeting, it was mentioned that
BenQ86" interactive displays were approved as an acceptable display for the spaces requiring this size and type. There are several different models of BenQ 86" displays that vary widely in features and costs. What model is acceptable?
Refer to the technology equipment schedule on
Sheet T7.2 for information.
2/19/2024
T3.6-2 calls for an AV rack (AV-ER-3). In the
AV parts schedule, it calls for Middle Atlantic
RCS-18-24 but the description is for a slide out rack (in casework). The RCS-18-24 is a free-standing enclosure. Please clarify whether the requirement is free standing enclosure or a sliding rack that will be in casework.
Replace cabinet with Middle Atlantic CWR-18-
26PD and mount at 84" to the top.

2/20/2024
Detail 2/T3.6 shows QSC cameras that seemingly are to be used for streaming video to be decoded by the AV-NV21HU-1 encode/decode units. The QSC cameras will not work this way as a direct stream encoder.
We believe that these rooms would need additional AV-NV21HU-1 units serve as encoders for the camera video (one per camera). Please clarify the intent of how the video from these cameras will get to the
NV21 decoders at the displays
NV21s were based upon a design feature that we have learned are delayed to November for the Vet
Clinic. Repalce the NV21 specified with an NV32.
2/21/2024
The customer has an existing Avigilon ACM access control server. Can we use the existing server or is a new server required.
The spec states a new server but that doesn't make sense unless the customer has a specific reason for a new server/database.
2/21/2024
We need to provide 1000 cards. Please confirm what card model is required as one spot states Prox cards and another states iCLASS cards. Please provide the part number.
2/21/2024
Contractors are to bid Avigilon ACM access control based on the information provided but on the print key it shows the ACP-1 as
Software House. Please confirm ACM hardware is required.
2/21/2024
Please confirm HID multi class readers are required for CR-1 (standard) and CR-2
(mullion) as the print key shows Open Path reader part numbers which will not work as required. Please confirm the standard reader is HID 40NKS and the mullion reader is HID
20NKS.
2/21/2024
Please confirm who will be providing the door position switches and request to exit devices.
I believe the door hardware provider was to provide/install all electric door locking hardware (EDLH) with the door position switch and REX included in the EDLH. (The door position switches and request to exist devices are required for access control doors that require software alarms for forced open and door propped/ajar notifications in the software.)
Door position switches and request to exit devices are by the door hardware contractor and not part of this bid package.
P:\Kalamazoo\214175 KRESA Career & Technical Edu Campus\G) CA\G10 Bid Docs\Technology Rebid Package\_RFI Log draft.xlsx
2/21/2024
Please confirm one lockdown button is required at the front reception desk. Please let us know how this will mount as the print key is confusing. Will the button mount under the desk or on the wall and how many are lockdown buttons are required? Example:
they have multiple people sitting at the front desk so we can add a button per workstation location or one button only depending on the customer's needs. The desk looks long so we want confirmation on how many people will be at the desk, how many lockdown buttons are needed and how each button will mount.
2/21/2024
OPC server is listed as required for integration between the access control and video systems. However, the integration is native and doesn't require the OPC server. Is the OPC server required for integrations outside of Avigilon. If so, please let us know what integration is needed. If the OPC server is not needed, please let us know.
2/21/2024
It states Active Directory integration/setup is required but this should exist on the existing access control server. Please advise if a new server is needed and Active Directory is required.
2/21/2024
Please let us know if a badging license is needed. I believe this exists on the existing server is needed, please let us know.
2/21/2024
Will the contractor need to create the access control badges and print them, or will that be handled by the customer? If we need to print badges onsite please let us know how many.
2/21/2024 Does the customer require training? Yes.
2/21/2024
The system calls for map graphics. Is this required for all access control points and camera views? If required, how many pages
(1 st and second overall pages or pages per section such as 1 st floor section A, 1 st section
B, etc).
P:\Kalamazoo\214175 KRESA Career & Technical Edu Campus\G) CA\G10 Bid Docs\Technology Rebid Package\_RFI Log draft.xlsx
2/21/2024
Should we include the smart insurance plan for video so they can upgrade to ACC8 later at no cost? We would include ACC7 with the bid and once ACC8 has been tested we can upgrade if the smart insurance plan is included at no cost from Avigilon. If not, they would need to pay to upgrade at a later date to ACC8.
2/21/2024
Should we include one Avigilon High
Performance workstation with 2 monitors per the spec or will the customer provide?
Contractor to provide per contract documents.
2/21/2024
Regarding room scheduler licensing, the licensing is a monthly subscription per device. This is not something the contractor can purchase for one month and turn over to the owner for subsequent months. Owner has these schedulers and should be aware of this. Please confirm owner will be providing licenses.
2/21/2024
Is the owner expecting stacking cables to be provided? If so, are they 1, 10, or 25GB connections within the switch stack. I would recommend 10GB as the price is fair and likely enough transfer rate that they are consuming; however, will provide what the owner desires if their architecture works with something different.
2/21/2024 What doors access control cables go back to what controller location?
P:\Kalamazoo\214175 KRESA Career & Technical Edu Campus\G) CA\G10 Bid Docs\Technology Rebid Package\_RFI Log draft.xlsx
2/22/2024
It appears areas where there are open ceilings, are called out to have speaker models that are designed for Acoustical
Ceiling Panel installation (reference AV speaker type AV-SP1-C on T7.1 and PA-S1-
C on T7.2). Typically, new construction building will have a mix of ACP, ACP clouds, decorative slat wood, decorative metal panel, completely open, etc. If this would be the case, specialty pendant speakers or other would be required, with special consideration paid to speaker wire color (if free air) or conduit, etc. Please confirm AV-SP1-C and
PA-S1-C, as currently specified, will work in
ALL building areas except for the exterior locations and upper commons (next to video wall) that call for specialty surface mount speakers. If areas of the building do incorporate specialty ceilings, please provide a speaker type appropriate for these ceiling locations on the floorplans and update the
T7.1 and T7.2 equipment schedules.
2/22/2024
In Addendum 1, bidders were instructed to include Microsoft Teams licensing for the
RS1 and RS2 room schedulers. Contractors cannot supply this licensing as they are licenses that the owner will have to add to their existing Microsoft licensing accounts.
The licenses are a per-month, per device license.
P:\Kalamazoo\214175 KRESA Career & Technical Edu Campus\G) CA\G10 Bid Docs\Technology Rebid Package\_RFI Log draft.xlsx
Specification 27 4100, Subsection 2.1E
(Assisted Listening Systems), contains a chart with requirements for quantities of ALS receivers based on occupancy of spaces.
The AV plans include Listen Technologies
Beacons, for certain systems, that would be used for room occupants to connect BYOD devices to use as ALS receiving points.
Please clarify if bidders are also responsible to supply ALS receivers per Subsection
2.1E.1. For bidding parity, if there is a requirement for this, please provide a detail breakdown of each space/room that requires receivers and the quantity of receivers to provide for each space.
2/22/2024
In Specification 27 4100, Subsection 1.11, there is a requirement to provide pricing for a service contract. Is the requirement to provide this with the initial bids, or to provide post-award if owner desires? Please clarify.
2/22/2024
Detail 2 on T3.6 (Culinary Labs) and Detail 2 on T3.10 (Vet Clinic) shows cameras that are intended to be selected and viewed on room displays. To accomplish this, each camera will need a physical video encoder to create the video stream that will be decoded by the
QSC NV21 device (configured to be a decoder). The QSC cameras do not natively encode video streams that can be decoded by the NV-21’s. Each camera will need either an NV-21 or an NV-32, connected with HDMI to produce the required video stream. The encoders would either have to be at the camera location (which would require some type of ventilated enclosure or means of mounting) or could be located in a rack enclosure if HDBaseT transmitter/receiver links are used. For parity of bidding, please confirm that cameras in the Culinary Labs and Vet Clinics are to be equipped with a dedicated video encoder for each as part of the base bid.
P:\Kalamazoo\214175 KRESA Career & Technical Edu Campus\G) CA\G10 Bid Docs\Technology Rebid Package\_RFI Log draft.xlsx
The AV-IWB-1 in-wall boxes (behind TVs and provided by the Electrical Contractor) are physically too small to house all of the equipment specified to be inside of them
(items depicted in the AV detail one-line diagrams on T3.6 thru T3.11). Physical space dimensioning is an issue as well as heat dissipation. Most of the equipment specified to be mounted inside of the AV-IWB-
1 have surrounding airspace requirements for ventilation, not to mention cable bend-radius requirements that can only be accomplished by spacing equipment apart. To properly house this equipment, some type of ventilated enclosure would be required below the TV display to house the equipment. A potential solution to this problem could be a combination of (1) Chief Tempo AVSFSS Flat
Panel Floor Support System and (2) Chief
CSSLP15X10 Proximity Component Storage
Slide Lock Panels for each room display locations that is shown with AV-IWB-1 wall boxes. For parity of bidding purposes, please clarify a solution that will house all of the equipment required.
