20223281034 Trailer Mounted Trash Pumps, Self-priming

1. How long are the units expected to run for (a few hours a day/week/month), or are they expected to run continuously?

Answer:

They are expected to run continuously for 24 hours a day for up to a month. This would be a normal extreme situation. Normally for 8 hours a day.

2. Does the government have a preference between John Deere or Isuzu motor?

Answer:

No preference. Either is fine

3. Does the engine and Pump need to be warrantied?

Answer:

Yes. Previous purchase had 2-year engine and 1-year pump warranty.

4. If a manufacturer 2 year warranty is not available for the engine is a 3rd party warranty acceptable?

Answer:

Yes but identify the pricing separately

5. Will the government be performing the 250 hour required service or should the bid include manufacturer service?

Answer:

We, the government, will service them.

6. Was there a specific pump make/model referenced when making this request?

Answer:

No

7. What is the PH of the liquid being pumped?

Answer:

6.0 – 7.5

8. Is there a pressure and flow requirement of the pumps, or what would be the desired pressure and flow?

Answer:

1,000 GPM requirement. No pressure requirements.

9. When the solicitation refers to a 6” trash pump is that suction and discharge that size or can a 4”x 6” pump be considered to increase flow or pressure?

Answer:

6” is preferred. The most important factors will be that it can pump 30 ft. of suction head and up to 1,000 GPM minimum.

10. I noticed in the CLIN the trailer and pump are to be quoted separately, generally these are sold as one complete unit, am I to estimate what the trailer would cost separately?

Answer:

A quote for a complete unit is preferred.

11. For the warranty some manufacturers require a 250 hour service be performed in order to keep the warranty valid, is this service to be included in the cost of the delivery and will the government use the referenced service to maintain the warranty?

Answer:

We can service this unit. Service does not need to be included. The government will follow recommendations.

12. What you are needing for GPM (gallons per minute) from the pump

Answer:

1,000 GPM

13. - With most trailer units only being 11-13’ long, the hose rack will not easily accommodate 20’ suction and discharge hoses without a rack extending well beyond the front and back of the trailer. Does the customer still want 20’ suction & discharge hoses? Or 10’ lengths?

Answer:

We still would like (and need) the 20’ hoses. We do not need the unit to be 20’ long.

We wrap the hose around the unit. The one below has vertical racks (front and side) that enable this. They also curl up into the bed of the truck.
