About this file
This document is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) from the Town of Stratford, Connecticut, issued through its Shellfish Commission, soliciting competitive bids for an oyster shell relocation and planting project. The procurement seeks a qualified contractor to provide labor, materials, and equipment to relocate approximately 50,000 bushels of oyster shell from Zone 1 (the mouth of the Housatonic River) to Zones 2 and 3 using a suction dredge boat. The bid solicitation period runs from May 11, 2022, to May 26, 2022, with a vendor Q&A period from May 11 to May 18, 2022. If the full quantity cannot be relocated using the suction boat, the contractor must supply and plant additional wet shell in the designated zones as specified in the appended maps.
The solicitation is open to all vendors and requires contractors to have prior experience in furnishing and deploying oyster shell material. Payment terms are set at Net 30 days, and the contract will be awarded to a contractor who can meet the technical specifications. No specific budget range or total estimated value is provided, suggesting that pricing will be determined through the competitive bidding process. The document does not mention any set-aside designations, incumbent vendors, or specific funding sources. Interested vendors must submit their bids to Philip Ryan at the Town of Stratford by the specified deadline, with the expectation of providing a comprehensive proposal that meets the technical requirements of the oyster shell relocation project.
