About this file
This document is an Addendum 4 for the Chartiers Playground & Spray Park Renovations project, involving the City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works (Project No. 2020-87007). The comprehensive bid documents include detailed drawing lists covering site plans, landscape design, civil engineering, erosion control, water systems, and site details. The project encompasses a complete renovation of the Chartiers playground, including demolition of existing play equipment, installation of new play structures, a spray park with water features, accessible pathways, new landscaping, and site improvements. The drawings are dated 11/30/2021 with subsequent addendum on 02/18/2022, indicating the project is in the final bidding phase.
The renovation plans detail specific elements including a 1,661 square foot splash pad with 138 GPM total flow rate, featuring multiple water play elements such as geysers, stream jets, aquaarcs, and ripple runs. The site will include new asphalt and concrete pathways, play surfacing, boulder scrambles, embankment slides, accessible swings, a carousel, and various play structures. The project includes preserving existing site features like the stone bridge, concession stand, and select existing trees while implementing comprehensive site grading, drainage improvements, and landscape enhancements. The civil engineering drawings indicate careful planning for water distribution, sewerage systems, and erosion control measures, suggesting a holistic approach to the playground and park renovation.
