This is a Fellowship Placement Agreement between the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and the Applied Data Fellowship (ADF) program at the University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy. The agreement establishes a 12-month fellowship placement where an ADF Fellow will work with DCEO to provide data analytics support and translate data insights into actionable programs and policies. DCEO will provide workspace, leadership, and performance feedback for the Fellow, while ADF will fund the Fellowship and provide the Fellow with training and professional development. The agreement can be terminated by either party with one month's written notice.

DCEO will pay a $60,000 participation fee to ADF to fund the Fellowship, which will be used for Fellow compensation, programming, and management. The agreement prohibits DCEO from hiring the Fellow for 11 months after the project start date or the end of the Fellow's engagement, though public job postings are permitted.
