About this file
The document is a Request For Bid (RFB) issued by the City of Yuma's Procurement Division, Reference Number RFB-26-109, for Cleanup, Boarding and Securing Buildings. The RFB outlines detailed specifications for boarding windows and doors using either clear polycarbonate panels or plywood, with specific installation requirements per the 2018 International Property Maintenance Code. The bid includes a representative scenario involving cleanup, boarding, and securing services for a 2,000 square foot single-family residential property, which encompasses removing trash and debris, cutting overgrown vegetation, boarding 20 windows and 2 doors, installing 180 linear feet of chain link fencing and 150 linear feet of orange plastic rolled fencing, and using a generator for power supply.
The bid scenario is designed to ensure fair and balanced pricing across line items, with quantities listed serving as estimates that do not guarantee a specific volume of work. The document provides two boarding material options: clear polycarbonate panels and plywood, each with specific material thickness, fastening methods, and installation guidelines. Boarding must prevent unauthorized entry and comply with building codes, with one door to the structure remaining available for authorized entry. The City of Yuma intends this RFB to establish minimum standards for bidding, with the understanding that actual work orders may vary in scope and scale. The bid evaluation will focus on comparing pricing based on the provided representative use case to discourage imbalanced bidding practices.
