About this file

This attachment provides technical specifications for a Request for Quote (RFQt) issued by the City of Fort Worth Water Department in Texas for chlorine bulk storage tank testing and inspection services. The project encompasses nine liquid chlorine storage tanks located at three water treatment facilities: Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant (two tanks), Rolling Hills Water Treatment Plant (two tanks), and Village Creek Water Treatment Plant (five tanks). The tanks range in volume from 5,000 to 5,300 gallons and vary significantly in age and condition. Four tanks manufactured by Ace Buehler in the 1980s were last tested in 2014, while five newer tanks manufactured by Tank & Vessel Builders in 2020 are new installations. The designated working pressures are 225 psi for the older tanks and 275 psi for the newer tanks, with specifications complying with ASME Section 8, Division 1 or ASME U W RT-1 HT codes.

The technical specifications indicate that the contractor must be capable of testing and inspecting tanks with shell thickness of 0.625 inches and head thickness ranging from 0.625 to 0.750 inches. The contract is structured on an "as needed" basis, indicating flexible scheduling for the required testing and inspection activities. No information regarding pricing terms, contract duration, renewal options, response deadlines, site visit requirements, bidder meetings, or funding sources is provided in this attachment, as it serves primarily as a technical reference document for the scope of work.
