About this file
This document is a Justification for Brand Name Products related to a federal contract opportunity for the purchase of a MASH Certified Towable Attenuator for the National Park Service (NPS) at Grand Teton National Park.
The NPS is soliciting for the purchase of one Scorpion II Towable Attenuator manufactured by TrafFix Devices, as it is the only known unit that meets the required Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) standards and is MASH certified. The NPS has the option to purchase a second unit. The justification cites FAR regulations that allow for the use of brand name products when they are essential to meeting the agency's requirements and there are no other comparable products available. Market research was conducted, and the document states that there are no other known products that can meet the specifications. The procurement will be conducted through full and open competition on the government's SAM.gov website. The contracting office is the Northern Rockies Major Acquisition Buying Office.
