About this file
This document is a Single Source Advertisement from the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) for crisis intervention training services. The procurement is for the Crisis Prevention Institute's proprietary training programs and materials, with an advertisement period running from March 27, 2025, to April 17, 2025. The training will cover various crisis intervention techniques including verbal intervention, nonviolent crisis intervention, de-escalation basics, and specialty topics related to mental health, trauma, and autism spectrum disorder. The training is mandatory for all FSDB staff members and will be ongoing throughout fiscal year 2025-2026.
The estimated contract value is not to exceed $34,999.00, and the procurement is being conducted as a sole source acquisition. The Crisis Prevention Institute is identified as the sole approved vendor due to their unique, copyrighted training materials and methods, which the agency believes are not subject to meaningful competitive bidding. The document notes that while this is a single source procurement, vendors who believe they can fulfill the requirements are invited to provide information during the fifteen business day advertising period. The primary contact for questions is Kim Whitwam, Director of Purchasing, who can be reached via email at whitwamk@fsdbk12.org.
